Steven Victor Tallarico, better known to the world as Steven Tyler, was born on March 26, 1948. Though born in Manhattan and raised in nearby Yonkers, Steven is commonly associated with Boston thanks to his rock band, Aerosmith. After relocating to Boston, Steven – along with Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton, and Brad Witford – created a band that would dominate the classic rock world for over five decades. With hits like “Dream On,” “Walk This Way,” “Sweet Emotions,” “Crazy,” “Janie’s Got A Gun,” and more, Aerosmith became one of the most successful rock groups in history.
It didn’t come without a price. Steven’s drug and alcohol abuse was legendary, and both he and Joe earned the nickname ‘The Toxic Twins.’ Steven would go in and out of rehab, up to four times, before getting sober in 2010. He entered rehab again in 2022.
